  1. Well, it varies depending on the variety you get. I do not know id they have the arabian-like variety in the U.K. (I can tell you live there by the way you spell 'colours'). The arab type is fine-boned and preferable for showing. They come in all colors, the same as normal horses. Chrome varies, like with normal sized horses. Erm...heavy versions I'm not completly sure about. I think you might be able to get heavy minis (hahahaha). Well, good luck with your search for minis!

P.S. If your mother is interested in driving, why not teach your current horses to do it? It will be easier and cheaper,  meaning you wont have to go and buy new miniatures.

  2. My vote is for minis or small ponies.

A cute little team would be a joy.  Be sure to get an experienced team, though...you can get dumped out of a cart just like you can from the saddle.  But the smaller critters would be easier to handle on the ground, and the cart would be lower profile too...easier to get in and out of.

Look for some 40" shetlands...a pair of silver dapples with socks would be flashy, and you could clip the legs partly to look like feathers.

  3. My mom is and always will be afraid of regular size horses LOL I started buying her minis, her first (she said she loved black horses) a Black Frisian looking stallion...He had feathers, the biggest mane and tail, you would swear he was a shrunk down version.  If your mom would enjoy this you may want to look into getting her one.

  4. try getting normal horses that drive

that would be way easier and way less stress on the mini's

  5. A minature is a smaller breed than the shetland pony they range from about 8-9hh high that is very small if your mum is a regular size adult the mini would come up to about her hip children just starting out would ride them from the age of 4 they come is all colours
