Question:

Mum wants me to sew a cover for the bird cage?

she gave me an old sheet and asked me to do it. should i just cut out pieces to make the sides and top or should i do it differently?

and also, when sewing elastic on what is the best stitch to use?

  1. I would measure the birdcage and make paper patterns for each piece. After you cut each piece and make sure it fits, then when you lay it on the fabric add your seam allowance.

    I'm good at patterns, but I leave the sewing to others, so I can't tell you what stitch to use.  A good one might be a zigzag stitch.
