Mumbai Airport Transfer

Question

I am travelling from Dubai to Nagpur via Mumbai on a Indian Airlines flight. I wish to know how to transfer from Mumbai International Terminal to Domestic Terminal without having to come outside of the airport. I understand there is a transit exit available. Can someone let me know the exact way.

Your flight from Dubai is terminated at Mumbai and then you would be flying down to Nagpur by another flight.

When you would be in the flight from Dubai to Mumbia, you can inform the staff that you are to be transited from this flight to another, this can be done at check-in counter at Dubai or the airline staff.

Normally the Captain informs about this information before hand to Mumbai airport such that they can keep the internal transfer transportation ready.

These internal transportation is not a very state of the art facility and cannot be relied upon 100 percent.

Hence if its available its "well and good" otherwise you have to take a cab or auto-rick from international terminal to domestic terminal.

If you have booked the ticket from Mumbai to Nagpur through same Airlines, i.e. from Dubai to Mumbai and Mumbai to Nagpur, the airline will provide you transfer facility from International Airport to domestic airport.

The airport terminals are spread over two different locations 4km (2.5 miles) apart in the north of Mumbai. Terminal 2 is located at Sahar, and deals with international flights. Terminal 1, which deals with domestic flights only, is located at Santa Cruz. Free inter-terminal coach services transfer passengers between the terminals every 20 minutes during the day.

if the two are on the same airlines, they should transpoty you within the airport itself.  else you will hvae to come out and take a iinter terminal coach that leaves every half hour-  it will tkae 15 - 40 mins depdning on time of day and u could also take a cab which would be faster.

The airport provides a shuttle service between the two terminals.  

You can also take a taxi if you wish.
