Tuesday (May 10, 2011).
The Sachin Tendulkar-led Mumbai side has already earned a berth in the tournament play-offs but Pollock said that they would not rest their key players against tournament outsiders as they want to keep the confidence momentum going.
"Confidence is important and you want to keep the confidence and momentum going”, said Pollock while talking to the media reporters on the eve of the match. “We are in a good position but that doesn't mean you have to make changes. In this format of the
game you take nothing for granted", he added further.
He insisted that they have got to keep the momentum going and maintain the high standards of the game they have set from the very first match of the ongoing 2011 season. He further added that tomorrow’s game is an important game for them.
The former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 bowler refused to disclose the team composition of Mumbai for tomorrow’s game and said that they will decide it later and will name the playing XIs before the match.
The Mumbai skipper came to the PCA stadium with the team today but missed the practice session. When asked what made Tendulkar miss the session, Pollock said there is nothing to worry about master blaster’s fitness.
"From a practice perspective, Sachin has been involved (playing cricket) for 3-4 months now and not having one net practice doesn't make much of a difference”, said Pollock at the pre-match media conference. “Sometimes rest is better than having time in
the nets and on the field...he will be ready for us tomorrow", he added.
The Mumbai based franchise has won 8 of 10 games played so far and is leading the tournament points table with 16 points.
