Mumbai Indians defeat the Pune Warriors by 7 wickets – IPL Update
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians thrashed the Pune Warriors comfortably by 7 wickets in the 21st Indian Premium League match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.
The Mumbai Indian chased the target of 119 runs due to brilliant batting performance from Sachin Tendulkar and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ambati-Rayudu-c1007. After the early fall of James Franklin, Tendulkar controlled the situation sensibly by rotating the strike magnificently.
Rayudu gave full support to his skipper Tendulkar, as the two players put together a fine partnership of 74 runs, which eventually helped Mumbai to achieve the target comprehensively.
Earlier, Pune’s Captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yuvraj-Singh-c98364 won the toss and elected to bat first. They managed to put up the small total of 118 on the board, as none of the Pune batsman could face the outstanding bowling from the Mumbai Indians. The Mumbai bowlers maintained
an efficient line and length, not allowing the Pune batsman to score easily.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robin-Uthappa-c2356 was the only batsmen who accepted the challenge of the opposing bowlers, as he smashed 45 runs with the help of six boundaries and a six.
Yuvraj who was the Man of the Tournament during the recent ICC World Cup 2011 got bowled out on duck, which created huge pressure on Pune to set up the fighting total.
Every Mumbai bowler was spot on to irritate the Warriors batsman, as Munaf Patel put in a great spell, taking 3 key wickets for just 8 runs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abu-Nechim-c909 were also right on the money, grabbing 2 wickets each.
In response, Mumbai’s batsmen were more confident during their innings while the Pune bowlers followed the same momentum which their batsman set earlier in the match.
After a match winning partnership of Tendulkar and Rayudu, Rohit Sharma and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Symonds-c44611 continued the winning drive to chase the target without giving any respect to Pune’s bowlers. Sharma made 20 runs, hitting a boundary and a six. Symonds scored 16
runs and banged two fours.
Pune’s bowlers failed to control the flow of runs by the Mumbai Indians, as all of them were expensive.
Though it was an easy win for Mumbai, but they chased the target on the last ball of the match in a stylish way, as Sharma smacked a mighty six to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Murali-Kartik-c78034.
