Mumbai Indians versus Chennai Super Kings, the clash of the titans - IPL-4 News
Two of the best teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2011 season, Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will go head to head on Friday, April 21. The 25th match of the fourth edition of the cash rich tournament will be played
at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai in India.
MI will be heading into the match with confidence, as they are in a very strong position at the moment, with three wins in four matches. On the other hand, the defending champions have been twice victorious in four games so far.
CSK is led by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028. The wicket-keeper batsman guided his team to a historic victory in the ICC World Cup 2011, at the same venue where he will be up against MI. This will be a huge confidence booster for Dhoni and his
men.
On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar is the skipper of the home team. The veteran player has been remarkable for his team in every format of the game. He played a crucial role in his team’s success in the Mega Event. However, the Master Blaster is not known
for his captaincy skills. He has done a terrific job for Mumbai though, and will be looking forward to continue his form as a player and leader of his team.
MI have a couple of most destructive batsmen in their line-up. They have the Australian Andrew Symonds and the West Indian Kieron Pollard, who can change the course of the match in a very quick time. Both players can be handy with the ball as well, as they
can pick up wickets. The Kangaroo all-rounder can also adapt to the conditions, as he can bowl medium-pacers as well as off-breaks, depending on the nature of the pitch.
Apart from these batsmen, the home team has some very talented local cricketers like Rohit Sharma and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ambati-Rayudu-c1007. Both batsmen have the ability to rotate the strike over to keep the scoreboard ticking in the middle overs.
Mumbai also has one of the best bowling attacks in the IPL. They have probably the most lethal bowler in modern cricket, Lasith Malinga. The Sri Lankan pace-ace is currently the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 11 wickets in four matches. He has
the ability to reverse-swing the ball in the death overs with decent pace and his yorkers remind of the former Pakistan pacer, Waqar Younis.
Malinga paid tribute to the Pakistani legend, saying that he had learned his bowling watching Waqar on television. The former captain of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 team was renowned for his lethal reverse-swinging yorkers and was dubbed as, the “Toe Crusher.”
Two Indian bowlers, Harbhajan Singh and Munaf Patel have also done a terrific job for the home team and they will look to continue their strong show in the event.
However, if any team has the strength of overcoming the strong MI team, it is the CSK. The Dhoni led team has a very well balanced batting line-up with Suresh Raina, Michael Hussey, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Murali-Vijay-c78035, Scott Styris and the captain himself. Their bowling is led
by Tim Southee, Albie Morkel and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ravichandran-Ashwin-c84208, who can all take wickets and contain runs at the same time.
Only time will tell whether who will be victorious in this match, but the fans in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 and all over the world can be guaranteed a thrilling encounter.
