The final day of the four-day match between Mumbai and Bengal was a disappointment with no winner, as the match was drawn at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
Till the last three days, the match was equally poised, giving the bowlers and batsmen a good time as the wicket had everything for everyone.
After Mumbai piled 297 runs in their first innings they managed to restrict their opposition on 201, and then scored 47 runs without any loss on the third day of play.
They needed to score almost 100 more runs to achieve a comfortable lead against their opponents.
The Bengal openers RB Banerjee and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Arindam-Das-c1077 continued their outstanding batting, taking the score to 116 as they smashed the bowlers all around the park backed by some intelligent running between the wickets.
The fielders and the bowlers were kept on their toes by this batting pair, but before they could cause any further damage, the partnership was neutralized by Nayar, who had Banerjee caught behind for 59 runs.
With 120 on the scoreboard, Nayar struck again as he dismissed number-three batsman WS Porel, who fell after scoring only a run.
