The supreme batsman of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League-4, Murali Vijay, was pleased with his performance in the Final against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 28th May, 2011 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai.
He promised that he will carry on with the same promise in the upcoming Test series against West Indies.
"I am enjoying this moment and looking to improve on all aspects of my cricket, batting and everything. I am looking forward to join the Indian team in the Tests in which I really want to carry the momentum and do well," he said.
Vijay scored 95 runs off just 52 balls which comprised six towering sixes and 4 fours. He was unlucky to miss the century in the Final match but aided his team to reach a healthy score of 205 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allocated 20 overs.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore were restricted to 147 runs, losing eight wickets in 20 overs.
Chennai Super Kings won the match easily by 58 runs and Vijay was declared the ‘Player of the match’ due to his superb match winning inning. Murali Vijay has appeared in all 16 matches of the IPL-4 and scored 434 runs at an average of 27.12 runs, the best of 95 runs with three fifties. He secured the eighth spot in batting rankings of the tournament.
India will be visiting West Indies and will play one T20 match, five One Day International matches followed by three Test matches. The first Test match will be played at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica on June 16, 2011.
Vijay is a part of the Test squad and has guaranteed that he will repeat his IPL-4 performance in West Indies.
