Question:

Murder Mystery Party Help!!!?

my friend is having a birthday party, and i had an idea of having a murder mystery party. She would be the victim, and i would be the killer, and we were the only ones who knew. So, when we send out the invitations, we are going to give everyone a card giving them a name, and a motive of why they would want to kill her, and a sheet of paper listing everyone else and their motive of why they would want to kill her.

And so we're going to put clues around the hotel [its going to be hosted in a hotel] and the guests have to find out who did it.

But what i need help with is how to introduce the game, how to tell them that they have to find out who did it, with what, and why. And i would want the introduction to be very creative, and have people saying 'OMG. this is so coo, yet creepy.'

please be seriuos and helpful if you give an answer.

thanks <3

  1. Make it realistic without making them dial the police. Here's how.

First, let the party go. People will follow the natural cycle of talking to different people. They'll move around, but keep them in the same area (like a dining hall). At one point, turn the lights off, make some sound effects from the hallway, and wait a few seconds. Then make the sound of a closing door. Wait a few more seconds. People in the room will naturally move around. This makes people feel as if the killer moved next to them. (It is important that it is very dark, but that people will know not to panic)

Ok, sorry that's hard to follow so far....

Now bring a "detective" (a hired person that works at hotel, or a family member) in claiming that your friend was killed. And she says that everybody is a suspect, so they can't leave. Then you should say something like "but she was a friend of all of us, none of us would kill her". Then the detective says "Alright, I'll let you all off the hook if you can find who did it"

That's how I would do it. As for the setting up of the clues... make the victim leave and have them set it up as they are "dieing".

Good luck, sounds fun and a great location for it!
