Question:

Murder by member of royal family, what would happen?

Having recently read about the Nepalese royal massacre in which the prince murdered his father, the king, his mother, the queen and several other members of the family before killing himself and that if the prince had survived, he could not have been accused of the murders.

What would happen if something similar might occur in any royal family that are still in the world? Or some other crime like accidental murder like running over a pedestrian, etc?

  1. King Henry V111 had his wife Anne Bolelyn beheaded

Prince Albert was suspected of being Jack the Ripper.

Jack the Ripper was never caught. So go figure.

  2. im sure in any powerful royal family  the deed would be done by a well removed contact and complete protection afterwards

  3. It would be on the world wide web before the police arrive.

  4. Depends on how close relation the person committing the crime has to the king. If it's the King's son or daughter, he or she can be tried by His Majesty the King or whoever he choose to be judge in the case. There's no such thing as impunity for the Royal Family.

  5. I think that HM Queen Elizabeth II can not be sued...

  6. If someone could take the royal family member to an International court than the court would most likely sentence him or her according to international laws of the human society.

  7. You have to first think about the cultural differences first to compare the Nepalese royal family to any "Western" royal family.   But if for some odd reason someone in the English Royal family murdered someone (not sure what the circumstance would be that royal would need to kill someone) but he would be punished as someone else but I don't think they would be placed in the same type of prison. More than likely they would be in some special prison with high security. I think their rights and privledges would be restricted.

  8. The only member of the Royal Famiy who would not, and cannot face procecution for this, or anything for that matter is the good old Queen. It's called the Royal Perogative...just one of the perks of the job!

  9. Given that several of the royals have been caught and booked for speeding over the years ( princess anne was a beauty for it) ... MY guess is that they would face the full extent of the law if involved in a murder.....

as for an accidental death .. I'm not really sure how that would go .. I cannot imagine them having to spend time in a standard prison...
