Murder mystery parties? how do you host them with about 20 people?

i want to host a murder mystery party. how do i do it with about 20 people...

The easiest way (though not necessarily the cheapest) is to purchase a kit, which would have the complete instructions as well as some of the props & favors you would need to make it happen.  They make them for different themes and age groups and you can buy them online at lots of different sites.  You can probably also find them to purchase at party stores.

Once you have done one or two that way, and if you are pretty creative, you could probably come up with your own the next time because you would be able to write your own mystery plot & characters.  I wouldn't tackle this the 1st time, though, unless you have either hosted or attended several others & have a really good idea of what you want to do & can organize & write out your clues, etc.

I think in some towns you can also get bed & breakfasts or party companies to "cater" this type of event where they would do the planning for you--that would be even more expensive than my first suggestion.    If you were really going all out, or planning to use this idea as a fundraiser & charge admission, something like that might be an option.

You pick your party and then pay and they send you a link for all the information you need and exactly how to do it.

my father does murder mystry parties..he does his own scripts, has his own costumes and amatur actors work for him..maybe look into hiring someone to do it for you.
