  1. If you are Australian you would know that mushy peas are just overcooked peas with the water drained out of the cooking pan and then mashed,  we have a famous pie cart, which is actually a caravan down on the docks next to the Navel base, it is called Harry's Cafe de Wheels, this is where the pie floaters originated and I worked there during one of my School Holidays.  their floaters come with a pie, mashed potato on top of the pie, peas on top and then gravy.  If you enjoy these you are in super celebrity company because almost every celeberity who comes to Sydney will be found down at Harry's at one time or another

    Enjoy

  2. what do you want to do with the peas ? i just boil some dried green peas with some water and boil them down until they are mushy and there is no hard bits in them some times i need to add a little water so they don't burn. while that is happening i cook some pies in the oven, the frozen ones from the supermarket are fine. when the peas are ready set them aside and wait til the pies are ready, cut the tops off the pi with a knife and scoop in the mushy peas you made.

you can use mashed potato and make up some gravy too.

    hope this helps

if you wanted to make a mushy ea soup you could use party pies as dippers

there's also a Harry's de Wheels in newcastle nsw near the Brewery on the water at newy
