Im a semi-Pro Rugby player and in the last month i have put on a fair degree of muscle mass, now my position is winger and i have an unusual degree of sprinting speed which i am proud of, however my question is, if i keep gaining mass will i become slower and if i increase sprint training will i lose my muscle mass due to cardio? im 18 years old 5'11'' and 89 KG's (i knew i was done growing vertically so in order to gain some weight i took to building muscle mass)

  1. It takes strength or mass to sprint fast.

The stronger you are the faster you should be able to run, however, there is a limit and you can get too big to run fast, because you are carrying that mass with you.

If you continue to train, and stretch you should not get too big.

You should not be losing mass unless you are doing distance training, just running will not cause you to lose mass.

  2. no muscle cannot slow you down unless you are crazy big

cardio will only make your muscles toned
