Question:

Muscle pulled in my mouth?

by  |  earlier

Im not sure how it happened, but i realized a few days ago that the muscle (i think) in the back left corner of my mouth (right behind the teeth where the throat starts) might be pulled. It hurts a bit when i open my mouth really wide. When i open my mouth, i can feel that the muscle is pulled out a bit more than the other side.

It's kind of hard to explain, but anyone got an idea?

Thanks

  2. Hi,

It can be a simple sort of muscle sprain. It is very hard to say exactly what might have caused such problem.

    However, nothing to worry about.

    DO THE FOLLOWING :

    1. Take Ibuprofen / Advil / Motrin. That will not only take the pain away, it will reduce any swelling that might be present.

    2. You can suck on ice. That will reduce the swelling and pain even more.

    3. DO NOT eat anything hard, that will require those muscles to work harder. In other words, stay on soft diet for about a week or so.

    4. For the same reason DO NOT chew gums.

It will take its own course and heal very soon.

    Hope this helped :)
