Question:

Muscle soreness after working out?

Whenever I work out, I usually get sore the next day. But then I'll stay sore for 3 or 4 days. I know most people are sore for a day then get over it, but that doesn't happen in my case. I do eat my share of protein too. Why am I sore for so long?

  1. You either over-worked yourself or you're not stretching before you work out.  And the reason you stay sore is because you can't sit and wait for the soreness to go away. You have to keep stretching your muscles. Do that and you'll notice a difference.

  2. it is perfectly normal to be sore for days after wards it just means the muscles have been worked it is honestly nothing to worry about and is in fact a good sign as opposed to a bad one.

  3. try drinking more water and eating more potassium (bananas are a good source) to try to flush the lactic acid out of your muscles.  gentle stretching will help, too.  you probably are overworking your muscles.  they'll get accustomed to the level of activity eventually, but you might want to tone it down a notch to avoid injury.

  4. You're over working yourself.
