can the heart muscles twitch causing death?

  1. There is a condition called ectopic heartbeat which feels like a twitch of the heart muscle. It causes an extra heartbeat or a beat at the wrong time. Lots of people have it and it is harmless. The normal heart function and rhythm is not affected.

    It feels very strange, and many people get scared when they first experience an episode of it.
