My muscles are REALLY Sore? Please help!

I went to Cheerleading practice Tuesday night, and now I'm so sore!

I can barely move! Mostly my shoulders/neck and thighs. I'm pretty sure it was because I haven't done cheerleading in a while, and the practice was really intense. Does anyone know any tips on how to make the aches go away? I won't take advil or aleve, or any of that stuff. Is it true that an ice bath helps? I layed in the pool on a raft all day, but it didn't really help. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much! <33

  1. If you take a hot shower and put heat on your over tired muscles that will help. I would always come home from tennis sore and ice really won't do much unless you're hurt as in bruising, heat will help sore muscles.

  2. This is kind of after the fact, but after a vigorous workout you need to take a nice hot shower to help relaz the muscles, You'll still be sore, but not as bad.

Now that you are in the thick of it you can try a few things like icy hot or bengay, but I found that just waiting and letting the acid in your muscles subside works the best. I actually like the feeling because it lets me know that I did something positive to give me that feeling.

  3. Go get some epsom salt and soak in it ,

  4. rub bengay on it. or go buy one of those pads that heat up ur muscles...thermacare or icy hot
