Bangladeshi Captain, Mushfiqur Rahim, has said that his side will no longer aim towards achieving ‘respectable losses’ but in fact, with the home series against the Pakistani tourists just around the corner, the Asian Tigers now hope to win every game against
the Men in Green, in a bid revive their might under the sport.
In one his recent interviews, the Captain revealed that his boys will now face the opponent with a different mindset, and that they will look to mark imposing wins, be it team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 or any other.
“I think http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 cricket has crossed that barrier where we aim for a respectable loss against a big team. That mentality is not there within this group of players. We play to win every game against whichever team,” said Rahim.
The Asian Tigers are set to kick off their home outing against the Men in Green tourists with the only Twenty20 (T20) match from Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh, scheduled to be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, on November 29, 2011.
The single bout will then be followed on with a 3-match One Day International (ODI) series, and the eventual 2 Tests matches, kicking off on December 9, 2011 and December 17, in Chittagong and Mirpur respectively.
Having already recent concluded a defeated Test and ODI series against the West Indian side, Skipper Rahim is confident that his roster will fall hard on Misbah-ul-Haq’s squad, after stating that the Caribbean side was seen as the tour’s favourites – but
on the other hand, it was the Bangladeshi hosts who managed to steal away the opening win of the competition, at the one-off T20 bout.
As for his upcoming outing against Pakistan, Rahim comprehended that though the Men in Green are seen as the favourites as well as are in quite good form, but to face the Tigers, the visitors will have to start from scratch.
“They're the favourites no doubt but if we play our best cricket, it won't be easy to beat us in any of the formats. It will be more difficult tomorrow as Pakistan are experienced and in form, but they have to start from scratch to beat us," said the Captain.
