Despite his side facing some serious injury blows, Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim remains positive about his team’s chances, and has backed his young guns to fire in the forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.
The Bengali Tigers arrived in Sri Lanka without the likes of talismanic all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shakib-Al-Hasan-c2492, who is nursing a stress injury and a calf surgery. The injuries are expected to keep Shakib out of action for at least six weeks. The other seniors players

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selectors have called up 21-year-old batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marshall-Ayub-c74819 as replacement for the injured players . However, more established youngsters in the squad are expected to be
called upon to bear the responsibility in the absence of the key seniors.
While speaking to media reporters here in Colombo on Friday, the visiting skipper said that Shakib’s absence will be missed during the Sri Lanka series. However, he hoped the youngsters to fill in Shakib’s big boots just like they did against West Indies,
at home last year.
"We had a couple of injuries in the last series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 wicketkeeper batsman. "The couple of young guys who came into the side in his place performed
really well. We'll miss him, but it's a chance for the younger guys to prove they can do well abroad as well as at home," he added further.
Bangladesh last played the Lankan http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in that tournament. Reminiscing upon his side’s
performance in the 2012 Asia Cup, Mushfiqur said that those results suggest they are an improving side.
"There is no secret to our success," Mushfiqur said. "The boys have really been working hard for the last one or two years. Someone needed to put their hands up and do the basics in the middle, and that's what we did in the recent series against West Indies
and also in the Asia Cup. The youngsters have come good and are performing really well, so hopefully they will continue in the same way," added the visiting skipper.
Bangladesh’s month-long tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 kicks off on March 8, with a Test match at Galle. Mushfiqur admitted that his side needs to work hard in the longest format of the game.
"In the Test match we have to play each session very well and keep doing that over and over. In the last series against West Indies we did really well, but we couldn't finish well in both the Tests. The young players are coming good, so if they put their
hands up and perform, we will have a competitive Test series," concluded Mushfiqur.
