The Bangladesh captain, Mushfiqur Rahim, on Tuesday rued the floodlight failure as his side lost the third and the final One Day International of the three-match series against Pakistan by 58 runs, after being in a commanding position at the start of their
178-run chase.
After restricting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahriar-Nafees-c2486 and
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahmudullah-c1877 lost concentration and the whole Bangladesh side was bundled out for just 119 in the 38th over to hand Pakistan a 58-run win and a 3-0 series clean sweep. The last nine wickets of the hosts fell for 50 runs.
Mushfiqur said that breaks always break the momentum of game as well as players adding that the they failed to adapt to the situation created by the blackout.
"We were making runs in the last one or two overs (before the break) and a partnership was in the making," said the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 captain while talking to the media reporters at the post match media conference. "A break always can make a difference. Obviously
the batsmen need to settle down after every break. You have to adapt to the situation, but unfortunately we could not do this," he rued.
However, he did not lay the entire blame for the loss on failure to adapt to situation after the floodlight issue. Mushfiqur conceded that they had some technical mistakes and were also mentally demoralised as some of their big guns failed to perform in
the series.
The home skipper praised his bowlers for their good show in all three ODIs and the only T20 against Pakistan as the Bengali spinners did not let the Pakistan hard-hitters break free in any of the matches.
He also urged the batsmen to be more careful in shot selection as well as being more strong mentally.
"I think we have to be a bit strong mentally and stay a bit more positive in our shot selection,” said the Bangladesh captain. "We have to spent time on the wicket, if we can do that may be we will be able to realise the nature of
wicket and build up an inning. It is not happening now," he added further.
