i also know mushrooms are not plants they are more close to animal kingdom than plant kingdom so...we and the mushroom also share common ancestor. yay!

We classify all living organisms into 5 kingdoms

They are

Plants,

Animals,

Fungi.

Monera (bacteria),

Protoctista (single celled algae).

These classifications are based on what an organsims is contructed of, how it reproduces, what physical characteristics it has and it's genetic make up.

Fungi are as different from plants as they are from bacteria.
