Mushtaq Ahmed sees tough competition between Graeme Swann and Saeed Ajmal – cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE), as a big challenge for spinners of both sides.
The leg-spinner deems that the pitches for the series will favour spin and England’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859 will play a crucial role in the outcome of the event. As per the former cricketer, the team that plays
spin better will have an added advantage.
Seeing tough competition between Swann and Ajmal, Mushtaq said, “I see this series as a big challenge for the English and Pakistani spinners and there is going to be tough competition between Swann and Ajmal, who are the best off-spinners
in the business today. It will depend on what sort of pitches are prepared for the series but I sense they will give assistance to the slow bowlers. But Swann and Ajmal are bowlers of a quality who can trouble anyone, even on even tracks.”
The Poms have a great track record at home but when they are abroad they don’t have the same sting, especially on Asian wickets, which are a paradise for spinners.
Convincing the English camp to increase their dependency on spin when touring Asian countries, Mushtaq said, “England has been preparing hard for this series and I have tried to convince them that they must learn to depend on spin
if they want to win in the Asian region.”
Both, the English team and the Men in Green are in superb form. The Poms are currently the number one ranked team in Test and Twenty20 formats of the game, while Pakistan has their number in the 50-over game, as they rank higher
than their competitors.
England is scheduled to play three Tests, four ODIs and three Twenty20’s matches during the tour. The Poms outing kicks-off with a Test match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, January 17. The opening fixture will
be followed by a match at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imtiaz-Sheikh-c64290 Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. The tourists have announced the squad for the clash but the hosts are yet to reveal their final roster.
