Former leg-spinner of Pakistan, Mushtaq Ahmed, is unlikely to take over as the bowling coach of the national team as he failed to reach an agreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board, sources revealed on Tuesday.
Well placed sources from inside the board revealed today that the 41-year-old former leg-spin bowler wants to sign a three-year contract with the PCB, with a  particular clause that the board cannot remove him during the specified
period.  However, the board officials are not willing to accept Mushtaq’s terms and conditions and have not contacted the leggie since he met with the PCB chairman Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397, earlier this month.
"During a meeting with the PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf he made it clear that he would only work if given a three-year contract with a particular clause that the board can't sack him,” a PCB official told the media reporters on Tuesday.
“However, the Board is not willing to accept his terms and conditions. Since then the board has not contacted him, which is an indication that it is not willing to accept his rigid conditions,” the source added further.
The sources also claimed that it was Mushtaq, and not the board that initially expressed interest in the deal.
Mushtaq, who has been working with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and Wales Cricket Board for the last three years as England team’s bowling consultant, is likely to sign another three-year contract with ECB.
The position of bowling coach has been vacant since February this year, after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aaqib-Javed-c41431 declined from extending his contract with the PCB accepting an offer of head coach from the Emirates Cricket Board.

of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, is not interested in having Akram under him as the bowling coach.
"The other strong contender now bowling coach's position is Mohammad Akram, but all indications are that Dav Whatmore is more interested in bringing in a person of his own choice on the support team," said the source.
