  1. Try Laterallus from Tool

  2. u smell

  3. I'm inordinately fond of "Rover" by Jethro Tull from their Heavy Horses album.

Personification: the narrator presents himself as a dog: "I chase your every footstep, and I follow every whim...So slip the chain, and I'm off again..."

Similes/Metaphors.  The narrator, again, as a dog, and also as a carnival balloon "Strip me from the bundle of balloons at any fair.  Colorful and carefree, designed to make you stare.  But I'm lost and I'm losing the thread that holds me down, and I'm up hot and rising in the lights of every town."

Irony: the song is addressed to one woman, but there is a strong image of a man chasing any woman, dog-like.  "You've thrown the stick for your dog's trick, but it's floating out of reach.  The long road is the rainbow, and the pot of gold lies there, so slip the chain and I'm off again, you'll find me anywhere, 'cause I'm a rover."

OK, let me try another one.  Gorillaz, "Hong Kong" from D-sides or the video Demon Days Live.

Simile/Metaphor.  "You swallow me, I'm just a pill on your tongue."

Personification: "Lord, hear me now.  Junk boats and English boys."

Irony: the overall tone of the song is quasi-mystical (the neon lights make me come--strong imagery!) while there's an undertone of tawdriness and dissatisfaction: "The DJ was the last to leave, she had well conditioned hair.  Beautiful, but nothing really was there."
