I always, my whole life I wanted to go to a Music Camp. Now, I watched Camp Rock last night, now I want to go even more. I want it to be an overnight camp. Does anyone know one around in MA or NH area?

I play the flute, and I'd love to have voice lessons and guitar lessons. :D

  1. Why don't you join Marching Band. Marching Band programs usually have Band Camps.

  2. there is bethel camp for the arts. its not just music but other things also. its in maine, but not too far. just google it to get to their website.

  3. Have you looked into SYMS?

SYMS The Summer Youth Music School at the University of New Hampshire is one of the best and longest operating music camps in New England. Conducted entirely on the campus of the University of New Hampshire in Durham New Hampshire, outstanding instructors, conductors and musical opportunities have awaited music students for each of the last 60 years.

SYMS offers two separate camp programs according to age with a Junior Program presented for students who have just completed grades 7 or 8 and a Senior Program given for students who have finished grades 9, 10, 11 or 12. Juniors attend for one full week and Seniors for two weeks. All students are lodged in college dormitories on the UNH campus and eat at the college cafeteria. The two campus swimming pools are available to them throughout their stay with supervision.

I had students who attended SYMS, and they really enjoyed themselves. They also achieved high honors in their school music program.

An extensive list of Summer Music Camps, listed by State, can be found at this link:

I hope that you're able to attend a music camp of your choice, this summer!

    Best of luck to you!

  4. It's a great way to keep your chops up during the summer.

I'm originally from Massachusetts and did SYMS (at UNH) one summer at MSYM (at UMaine) another.  Those are both places great for being able to do ensemble work during the summer.  SYMS has waaaaay more people in it that MSYM, but I preferred the smaller atmosphere at UMaine.

There's a bandcamp thing at UMass, but that's really for marching band and you don't get much out of it.  Still fun though.
