Question:

Music Man Audition songs?

I'm auditioning for the Music Man, and I haven't picked a song yet...I'm thinking of "Jimmy" from Thoroughly Modern Millie or "Bride's Lament" from Drowsy Chaperone...just because they're fun and they fit my voice (soprano--mix/lyrical)...... would those be good choices? If not, what are other ideas?

Also, I'm not auditioning for a specific role, since I'm not old enough to play Marian (I'm 18) but not a good enough dancer to play Zaneeta.

  1. I think you should sing (for zaneeta) stepsister's lament from cinderella? its super fun & cute. i'd pick that if you're looking for an older musical tone.

if you're looking for a new musical, Songs for a New World by jason robert brown has some amazing soprano solos. "i'm not afraid of anything" is lyrical & a little belty.

"stars & the moon" is more lyrical and tells a good story. great for adding acting into it. it's my favorite audition peice

    :]good luck!
