Music Playing While Performing Surgery?

Question

I know Scrubs is just a show, but in many episode when there are scenes during surgery, the surgeons play music. I was just wondering if this occurs during actually surgery?

I attend C-sections ... and there are a few physicians that always play music ....

While in nursing school, I attended surgical sessions on rotation. Many did play music. A few did not.

It reminded me of the movie 'The Doctor'.

yes i do it all the time, i play r&b, classical, jazz like kenny g and some of the hottest songs that are out. it helps me relax and stay calm

I had a hysterectomy in 1992 and they played classical music. I asked the surgeon if I was dreaming or was it fer real. He said they play it to relax the surgeon's hands.  True
