Question:

Music Recognition/scanning software?

I play piano accordion, and I have a ton of copied sheet music that is written (by hand) for concertina. Most of the keys the music is in is Gm D, and A - when playing with other musicians this poses a problem. I recently purchased software to scan the sheets into the computer, to put it into "finale" to transpose the key - the problem is the software doesn't detect or recognize anything. As the music is handwritten and xeroxed god knows how many times, and then there are all the extra "characters" in concertina music - numbers, letters, and lines.

What I am wondering - is there a better program out there to scan these in with? Something that will recognize notes, staves and lines? Or is there other ways to do what I want to do other than paying someone to do it, re or rewriting it by hand? I would just use a dig piano and play it into the computer - but do not have enough money to purchase the keyboard. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
