  1. someone hasn't done their homework...

  2. Concerning Christian music; learning correct doctrine is far more important than gathering to sing song after song. Yet many church services are based around music and the people are left in ignorance. My brother's church wanted to build a gym. Yet most were ignorant about spiritual matters. Fun, recreation and entertainment are designed to divert your focus from what is really important: The time is short and Jesus is coming...and he is not pleased. We are here to preserve this world. When was the last time you were instrumental in getting someone (besides yourself) to heaven?

  3. Sport seems to consist largely of begetting and smiting. Music is largely the blowing of trumpets! I can't think of a single biblical reference to the triple jump or beach volley ball or Little Jimmy Osmond (although the latter might be mentioned in Revelations)

  4. Let's go Yankees ( well not this year ) Let's go Jets!!  Rock & Roll!!!!  I have no religion.

  5. I usually don't answer these questions as I'm not one to step foot into conflict, but as a Christian, this article was quite interesting to me on secular music:

  6. I've studied too many religions to innumerate them all here.

The religion I follow (Christianity) has no problems, as far as I know, with sports.  Recreation is supposed to be sin-free (no drugs, getting drunk, sexual immorality, et cetera).  Some time should be spent in prayer, and in reading the Scriptures, but not all of our time needs to be devoted to it.  We're not supposed to love money, but we can use it however we see fit, so long as we're providing for our families (if we have one), and making sure that if we have an excess of money, we help others with it.  Music is no problem, as long as the lyrics are clean.
