Question:

Music from my ipod nano 3rd gen to my laptop?

Reason I'm asking is this:

Just over a month ago my computer just like...died...and we haven't been able to get round to getting stuff from the hard drive yet but i want my music back ASAP so i can update my ipod with new music! Basically, it's all stuck on my ipod nano from when I last updated just before the computer went...and it'll take me forever to get it back/upload it all over again o_O

Sooooo, I was wondering whether there was a safe way to get the music from my ipod onto my *new* laptop which i've just got to replace the computer? I don't really wanna download a program but my friend said there is another way but doesn't know how exactly...anyone help me?

Thanks :)

  1. You will have to download iTunes to your laptop.  When you have that done, go to preferences, select Syncing and check the button that says "Disable automatic syncing for all iPhones and iPods."  Hook up your iPod and then manually drag all the tunes over to iTunes.  You will than have to access your iTunes account. Go to the Store menu and select "Authorize Computer..."  Your account and password will be requested.  Once you enter this information, your laptop will be authorized to play the songs that you have purchased from iTunes. If you have selected in iTunes to use your iPod as a hard drive, you will have to do none of this.  Just hook up the iPod and drag the files over.  Whatever you do, you cannot do any harm unless you fail to turn off the syncing.  That is important.
