Music in the U.K.?

Hello,

I'm taking a trip to Scotland and England this summer, and I'd like to get a few songs for my MP3 player for my flights over and back before I go. What are some good songs by English/Scottish artists? (I like pretty much every genre except metal, really.)

I'm actually into earlier UK artists: s*x Pistols, The Clash, Joy Division (and the later, New Order), the Pogues; h**l, even the Beatles! I like Lily Allen very much. Amy Winehouse grows on me a little. If you can, here would be some of what would go on my ideal list:
