Music/media question here- are you smart?

I have an essay question- All musicians rely on the media (eg. radio, TV, magazines) for their coninuing fame and success and the media in turn rely on these people for their profits.

I'm choosing to agree with this statement but I can't think of a person who I could refer to to support my view and some major points I could prove it with. Thankyou so much for your help- I really, really appreciate it!

You'll probably want to go with a band who has made their mark (good or bad) on the music industry because of radio, I would suggest to just listen to a radio station for an hour or so, and see who you hear more frequently. That way you can come to your own decision.

Having said that, Nickelback's definitely one of them. They're a terrible band, and yet they get so much exposure on the radio, on tv, and in magazines. These outlets are the only things that have kept this band going as long as they have...
