We got new computer (Windows Vista) which required my husband and I to download all our iTune music to an external hard drive; he has an iPod Mini and I have a Nano. When the new computer was up and running we loaded the latest version of iTunes (7.4), Transferred the music over from the external hard drive successfully, recertified our iPods to the new computer, and then synched our iPods to their own iTunes libraries. The problem is, songs stopped on both iPods randomly; some songs played fine, but other songs stopped before they ended and the next song in sequesnce would start. We tried the Reset option on both iPods, and then synched each iPod again; the same problem persisted, although different songs were stopping the second time around. Since I have a Nano and my husband has a Mini, and both iPods are experiencing the same problem, we don't think it's a hardware malfunction. If anyone knows what the fix is please reply ASAP before we pull our hair out. Thanks! We have an 80 Gb iPod Classic that plays a few seconds of certain songs and then skips to the next. The unit is less than 60 days old. The songs play fine in iTunes. We sync it with a Windows Vista machine - also new.
We've tried reset and re-sync and software updates. Any ideas/
