Music reviews?

Im really trying to look into writing a few music reviews for magazines. I've noticed that modt reviews are written within a couple months of a record's release, but I'd like to talk about records released, say last year. Would that work out? I'd be writing about small bands for small magazines/journals...

If you writing reviews a year later, I'd say someone probably already beat you to it, and it would be old news. unless like you said your doing young bands that no one has heard of and you just giving them a bit of exposure, that would be good.
