Musical Romance with an inevitable victory in the Vinery Madison (4YO+ Fillies & Mares) (Polytrack) at Keeneland
The Grade 1 Vinery Madison (4YO+ Fillies & Mares) (Polytrack) will get raced over seven furlongs at Keeneland on Thursday, 12th April. The purse for the race is set at £116,129 and it will get contested by ten four-year and older thoroughbreds.
The most promising entry for the race is Musical Romance, Concorde’s Tune’s five-year-old bay mare, out of mare, Candlelightdinner. She has raced in two races ever since the 2012 season shot off and it did not take her long to claim the race as the second try translated into a victory.
Musical Romance won the Grade 2 Inside Information Stakes on 17th March at Gulfstream Park over seven furlongs. With C. Leyva onboard, she struggled through the final yards of the race in order to keep the runner up of the race, Hot Summer, at bay by ¾ of a length.
Settling into the third position behind the winner was the 31/10 favourite of the race, Groupie Doll.
Musical Romance cracked into the season on 28th January in the Sunshine Millions Filly And Mare Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream Park over six furlongs. The winner of the race was It’s Me Mom who had the runner up, Honey Chile, finishing 6 ¾ lengths after her.
Striding on for the third position behind the winner was Indulgence.
Musical Romance ended the race fourth, right before the 19/10 favourite of the race, Pomeroys Pistol.
The last time that Musical Romance raced at Keeneland was on 8th October 2011 in the Grade 2 Thoroughbred Club Of America Stakes over six furlongs. The race was won by Holiday For Kitten who was paired up with K. Carmouche and the two were successful in shoving Musical Romance into the runner up’s slot after she missed victory by a head’s margin.
The 9/10 favourite of the race, Switch, finished right after the runner up.
The entry to look out for is the four-year-old Groupie Doll who has also scored a second position in her last race at Keeneland.
On 22nd October, Groupie Doll, ended as the runner up in the Grade 2 Lexus Raven Run Stakes raced over seven furlongs. She was riding with Greta Kuntzweiler and had to compromise the victory by a head’s margin by which the winner, Great Hot, led.
