I need to organise a Kodaly plan, which is a 30 minute lesson where I need an opening song (not too important though), a movement song (like ring around the rosey), a quiet song (with small hand movements on the floor) and a song, game or story with instruments, a story. I need these to be a theme aswell (like the sea, the weather, animals...anything.) These are aimed at children 2-4years.

  1. religous songs and stories about jesus

just make them more interesting by adding more reactions and effects

so that at thier young age

they may be able to know more about god

and in that age is the age that whatever you teach,

it will stay on their minds

so take the advantage to the chance to lat them know about god and never forget about him

  2. I love the site kiddiddles

    http://www.kididdles.com/

There are a ton of songs there.

Also I have a few movement songs and ideas here:

My whole site is aimed at preschool theme based planning, with movement, games, songs, art, math, science and snacks.

My favorite Eric Carle Book is "From Head to Toe"

I read the book with the kids... it says something like

"I am a crocodile and I can wriggle my hips"

I show the kids how to do the action, then I read:

    "Can you do it?"

    The kids yell back

    "I can do it!!!"

    The Penguin Song

by chicky sung to "Mary Had a Little Lamb"

    Penguins like the cold weather,

    cold weather, cold weather,

    Penguins like the cold weather,

    And they like to play.

Penguins like to swim and play

swim and play, swim and play,

Penguins like to swim and play

    And they rest at night

Penguins eat a lot of fish,

a lot of fish, a lot of fish,

Penguins eat a lot of fish,

    Each and every day.

    Five Little Monkeys

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed

One fell off and bumped his head

So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said

No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

(Sing with 4,3,2,1 little monkeys) then...

No little monkeys jumping on the bed

None fell off and bumped his head

So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said

Put those monkeys back in bed!

    Five little Monkeys!!!!

Five little monkeys, swinging in a tree (hold up five fingers, and swing hand)

Teasing Mr. Alligator, can't catch me, (make wings by placing thumbs in arm pits, and rock elbows up and down)

You (point to child) can't catch me!!! (point to self)

Shhhh (index finger to your mouth)

Along comes Mr. Alligator.... quiet as can be (Place palms together thumbs pointing up, and fingers away from you, and move back and forth like a fish)

And he snaps (clap hands in front of a child) that monkey right out of that tree.

Repeat with Four, three, two and one. After the last monkey, say No more monkeys swinging in the tree.

(use gesture for "all gone" or "I don't know")

Some other ideas for "I can do it"

    I can paint

    I can cut

    I can color

    I can count to ____

I can hop on one foot

I can tell you my phone number

I can tell you my address

    I can do It cube

You can make a cube from a cardboard box. Place Velcro on each side. Then write the names of actions on pieces of paper, laminate them, then add Velcro. Place six actions on the cube. Have the children roll the cube and do whatever comes up on the cube.  Example kangaroo: jump three times.  You say, "I am a kangaroo I can jump three times. Can you do it?"

    Good luck and have fun!!!

  3. I would say do a wood theme. You could open up with the song "A bear went marching" , then you could use "The ants go marching" for the movement song, for the quiet small hand movement "Hole in the ground" could be sang quietly, and for the story you could do "The three billy goats Gruff", and give the children drums maybe so that when you get to the part about the sound that the goats make when they are walking across the bridge they could beat the drums. The name for the first one may be a bear went walking check that one.

So you have everything that is pertaining to something you may find in the woods. Goats, ants, bears, and trees.

I hope this helps or gets you headed in the right direction.

    Good Luck!

  4. Chika Chika Boom Boom  You can get the book and CD from Barnes & Noble for about $10.
