Musical theatre duets for two females?

We're looking for something really impressive. We both have extremely wide ranges. I generally prefer singing more classical high soprano stuff while she prefers belting but we can do both. We're also dancers. It's for a competition so we want to show off our talents as much as possible.

  1. Stay away from Wicked and RENT - horribly overdone.  You could try:

    - Marry The Man Today from Guys and Dolls

    - Class from Chicago

    - The More You Ruv Someone from Avenue Q (very, very funny song)

    - My Own Best Friend from Chicago

    - Every Day A Little Death from A Little Night Music

    - I Know Him So Well from Chess (this can be overdone though so be careful)

  2. "Who Will Love Me As I Am" from Side Show is a great choice for a duet!

"Take Me or Leave Me" from RENT is great too...but may be a bit overdone....

    Good Luck!

  3. The person above me is right.

"Who Will Love Me As I Am?" is perfect for you guys. There is a note torwards is the end where I've heard it belted and sung in head voice. It's a pretty song. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the girls in the show are dancers? Or some type of performer...i don't know.

  4. Loathing-- from wicked,

it's a great song for two females,

    very expressive and good ranges!

  5. At my eighth grade graduation, two of my female classmates sang "For Good" from Wicked (which happens to be my favorite play).

Another duet with two females is "What is this Feeling (Loathing)" from Wicked.

I would mostly recommend For Good.

  6. Like others said, "Who Will Love Me As I Am?" from Sideshow is great, and also songs from Wicked like "Loathing" and "For Good."
