  5. it's a sunnah to keep it as fist long, that's moderate,if u have it shorter or longer,it is not haram,as long as u keep it clean and tidy :) just don't make it a fine line,or justa few hairs where u can see the skin clearly, that's not a beard.

  8. yes is sunnah to grow it, and in doing so you should maintain it and look after it. meaning trimming it, keeping it short and neat and tidy.

some men let it grow wild and all messy. but you are meant to keep it short and tidy.

sunnah means its good to do it, but not doing it isnt haram.

  9.   Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri

The Prophet said, "There will emerge from the East some people who will recite the Qur'an but it will not exceed their throats and who will go out of (renounce) the religion (Islam) as an arrow passes through the game, and they will never come back to it unless the arrow, comes back to the middle of the bow (by itself) (i.e., impossible). The people asked, "What will their signs be?" He said, "Their sign will be the habit of shaving (of their beards). (Fateh Al-Bari, Page 322, Vol. 17th)

    Narrated Nafi'

Ibn Umar said, The Prophet said, 'Do the opposite of what the pagans do. Keep the beards and cut the moustaches short.' Whenever Ibn 'Umar performed the Hajj or 'Umra, he used to hold his beard with his hand and cut whatever moustaches. Ibn Umar used to cut his moustache so short that the whiteness of his skin (above the upper lip) was visible, and he used to cut (the hair) between his moustaches and his beard.

  12. Like Shaykh Yusuf Estes once said, men can't "grow" their beards. They just need to let it grow by itself.

But to answer your question, yes, you can't have it more than a fist length (according to Umar ibn Al-Khatab [raa]).

  13. Nope it is not Haraam if you grow it longer, but just be sure to keep it neat and tidy.

    You go brother ;)
