Muslim Indian people, how do you get your kids to be so good?

I am an American Muslim and know a lot of Indian people. I have also traveled to India. I have noticed that many Indian children are very well behaved and respectful of their parents. Of course, I know there are exceptions in every culture. How do you do it? Do Indian people generally spank their kids? How do you dicipline them?

By birth I am Hindu. By faith I am a HUMAN. I do not believe much in religion. However the social system in India are mostly similar for all its people.

We guide them with strict confidence. Children (even when they are grow up and reach age of 50 yrs) are not suppose to ignore their parents. Most of the people do not dare to ignore. Also we do not feel comfortable and against our ethics not to listen to our parents ever at any point of our life.

We love our children very much. The affection bonding between parents and children are among the highest in India.

We do spank children at times and normally its not illegal if it is within some sensible limit.

There is a draw back in this system. Many of our children grooms late and find it difficult to become self dependent. At times they lack ability to take decision.

Indian children doesn't know more about western culture and they have power to tolerate if their parents spank them. They understand the fact that why their parent are angry at them. There is a passion in Indian culture. Children like their parents more than themselves in India.

respect your child, don't spoil them, be firm but be nice, be responsible, don't joke around with them all the time, make them sure to know whos the adult in the rellationship
