Question:

Muslim dog owners- what do you do when Ramadaan comes?

I heard most Muslims put the dog down through lethal injection, but that is completely cruel and gives a bad name to Islam. Animal cruelty is committed daily in the name of Islam.

I am thinking of buying a puppy soon, and MIGHT get it next week. Ramadaan is coming up.

Do you just put your dog in a seperate room when you open your fast?

Does touching the dog's saliva break the fast?

PLEASE- don't tell me how dogs are haraam, because I have done my research and quite clearly dogs are NOT haraam.

  1. I'd jsut say to treat dog's saliva like dirt.

If you arms are dirty, your fast still counts, but you gotta wash it off before you pray.   If i'm doing outdoor work and my clothes get dirty....i'll change my clothes before prayer and then put my dirty clothes back on when i'm ready to go back out.

They're suppose to be outdoor animals though.   I guess they could be indoor animals, but you'd be constantly scrubbing your carpets.

I've given up on pets.....when i was younger i had a pet turtle and i saw it take a bite out of its own p**p.....it did spit it out, but the fact it had to figure out if the object was food or not made me not like animals.

  2. cook it mates

  3. PLEASE- don't tell me how dogs are haraam, because I have done my research and quite clearly dogs are NOT haraam.!!!!!!!!

    why do u ask ?!!

it's like saying , i worship ALLAH(swt) during Ramadan only

    dogs r dirty

  4. I have a St. Bernard dog, and I am Muslim. I let the dog in and out of the house as it pleases, even during Ramadan. I am not some small minded anti dog hater like most people are. Keep the dog inside and outside, its apart of the family!i

  5. Respect !

I have always wanted a dog when I was young, but my F***** dad never let me ! in the name of Islam

  6. go for it! i'm thinking of getting a dog sometime soon as well :)

i think it's absolute bull when these people say dogs are forbidden etc

there are 3 groups on this earth; vegetable, animal, and mineral, guess what? YOU AND THE DOG COME FROM THE ANIMAL PART.

what makes you think your life is of more value than the animal?!

and it's saliva won't kill you, i'm sure your god won't condemn you to h**l because the dog licked you!

  7. Is Ramadan every year? Be a bit pointless buying a dog then putting it down.

  8. well if youve really done research you know that dogs are only halal if theyre kept OUTSIDE, and if they serve you a purpose such as a herding dog or a guard dog. it is not ok to keep them inside or to let them l**k all over you etc and ride in your car like american people do, its just disgusting.

dog saliva doesnt break your fast

putting them in a seperate room from your fasting doesnt make it ok to have them in your house

there is no reward for you and might take away from your reward for fasting if you buy a puppy during ramadan. the price of a dog is clearly haram you can not pay money for them

  9. Dido to MμsΙɩmα Rabits = <3

  10. yeah, well Islamonline is not exactly the best source, now is it...

There are people dying outdoors of hunger and at the same time people are dressing up their filthy little dogs and putting them in day care.

  11. u r a dog

  12. You will lose a qiraat [1000] of your good deeds daily, not worth it. Get a cat instead.

  13. "Animal cruelty is committed daily in the name of Islam"- Please state your source Sick & Twisted

It is not permissible for a Muslim to keep a dog, unless he needs this dog for hunting, guarding livestock or guarding crops.

Al-Bukhaari (2145) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever keeps a dog, a qiraat from his good deeds will be deducted every day, except a dog for farming or herding livestock.”

Dogs are impure but unfortunately we find that some people are attracted to the ways of the kuffaar and their filthy habits, so they have started to keep dogs unnecessarily for no reason, keeping them, training them and cleaning them even though they can never be clean, even if they were washed with the waters of the ocean, because they are essentially impure.
