Is it true that there are Muslim only areas of England? If it is, then why is this? Doesn't that count as descrimination?

  1. there are no officially muslim only neighbourhoods ... in practice there are areas which are predominantly muslim and for cultural and other reasons outsiders are actively discouraged ... in my experience this is not so much on religious grounds but on ethnic grounds, a muslim of the "wrong" ethnic background would probably be as unwelcome as a black African person or a white British person

yes it's discrimination, but by who against who? ... these people weren't forced into their neighbourhood, they created it of their own free will for their own benefit

  2. Just like ghettos over here, no difference.

  3. In some of the Northern towns Muslims have tended to settle in certain areas and form a tight knit community.

They are not particularly nice areas, so people aren't in general protesting in order to be allowed in. There are occasional flare-ups between youths of different ethnicity/and/or religion , but that's as much to with age as anything else, and frankly, despite how it's in the interest of certain political groups to talk it up, has as much political and cultural significance as mods and rockers fighting on Brighton Beach in the 1960s

i.e. - young men - testosterone - tribalism - they grow up and out of it.

  4. There are Muslim ghettos in many large cities. Officially, of course, there are no "Muslim only" areas, but in reality, it often isn't safe for a non-Muslim to enter these ghettos. In the past, non-Muslims have been attacked and even killed by Muslim gangs when they have entered these "territories".
