Pigs are clean animals! They have a place which they use as a toilet which is well away from the places where they eat or drink.

Despite common beliefs, pigs prefer a clean environment (they wallow in mud to cool themselves but if given the choice of mud or sprinkler systems, they will elect for the clean water). If given enough room, pigs will defecate in one corner of a pen and sleep in a different corner.

Contrary to popular belief, pigs are actually cleaner animals than cows, sheep, goats etc. Pigs will not defecate near the area where they eat (if they can avoid it), unlike cows and other farm animals that defecate wherever the urge strikes them.

Pigs cannot sweat, and the only way they can cool off in the hot summer is by wallowing in mud. For this reason pigs are considered dirty animals.

Im not muslim but had to answer.

Yes they do just go to a farm and watch the pigs. They are extremely dirty and as a Catholic i wont ever touch pork and i do it for non-religiuos reason like this.

A common misconception about pork is that if it is cooked well, these ova die. In a research project undertaken in America, it was found that out of twenty-four people suffering from Trichura Tichurasis, twenty two had cooked the pork very

well. This indicates that the ova present in the pork do not die under normal cooking temperature.

It can damage almost all the organs of the body.

Mr apcohowko: its not only Islam but God also instructed in bible and torah not to eat pork meat. Jews don’t eat pork as it’s forbidden in their religion too. Almost every religion prohibited pig for eating and here almost every person gave u lots of medical scientific and religious points in favor of not to eat pig.  So if you still want to eat pig nobody is forcing u not to eat. Its ur life u can any thing. For example an u pls tell me why people smoke drugs (heroine marijuana etc) as they still know its not good for health? Just because they think its good for them so in this way u can also eat pig as ur mind tells u its good for ur health so keep it up………what else we can say? U asked a question and it was our responsibility to respond it properly. And we did that…………. that’s all

Mr apcohowko: Chinese also eat lizards, cockroaches mouse etc so u think its clean for u to eat those things also?

There are many people who are smoking but they don’t have any lung cancer ( and they are in their 80s or 90s) do u still think smoking good for health?

When God asked not to consume certain things then these is a scientific logic behind that. It’s not just a sin but it damages our body too.

Whether they are clean or dirty is not the issue.

Pork is linked to such a ridiculous number of diseases, including liver cirrhosis, and colon cancer.

So many that it's become a risk to eat it.

There is a great number of people from all faiths who wouldn't touch pork or anything with pork in it.

Allah knows best.

Well only Allah knows the reason why the flesh of swine is forbidden.

But from our recent studies one would thank God He forbade it.

We could say it's for health reasons, that's what it's looking like right now.

But only Allah knows.

And everything you eat eventually becomes you.

Your flesh and hair and eyes and bones.

& if you're eating filth...

In Islam your actions are also what make you impure.

If you're disobeying the word of God, thinking you know better.

That's an action.

During the time the Qur'an was revealed, no one understood why pork was forbidden.

It's not until now we're discovering that it is the unsafest meat you could eat.

Cow and poultry are no where near as dangerous as pork.

Cow and poultry are only dangerous when the actual animal you're eating is diseased or when certain hormones are added by people.

In Islam, it's forbidden to tamper with the animal's hormones anyway.

Just a healthy natural pig,

it's meat is very unsafe to eat.

Especially if you've been eating it regularly.

Well that doesn't say they do eat f***s and also doesn't say they don't.  

Also they tend not to eat their own.....but a neighbors f***s is somethign else.  

Anyways, you'll get doctors that will say both things...depends on their agenda.   Its like how scientists will both support and be against global warming........both using accurate data.

The fact that they roll in their own dirt - I can see where it comes from even tho I know pigs have the cleanest mouths of the entire animal kingdom...do you know who has the filthiest...eh?...yup humans!

Oh and it isn't just Muslims that have this pig thing...the bible also says not to eat pork from unclean pigs...Jesus was a wise man!! And the Torrah also says that pigs are unclean and shouldn't be eaten.

Hmm the worlds 3 oldest religions say its bad - I wonder how modern society worked its way into justifying it was ok to eat pigs???

The fact that consumption of pork is prohibited in Islam is well known. The following points explain various aspects of this prohibition:

1. ) Pork prohibited in Qur’an

The Qur’an prohibits the consumption of pork in no less than 4 different places. It is prohibited in 2:173, 5:3, 6:145 and 16:115.

"Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah." [Al-Qur’an 5:3]

The above verses of the Holy Qur’an are sufficient to satisfy a Muslim as to why pork is forbidden.

2.) Pork prohibited in the Bible

The Christian is likely to be convinced by his religious scriptures. The Bible prohibits the consumption of pork, in the book of Leviticus

"And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you".

"Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch, they are unclean to you."

[Leviticus 11:7-8]

Pork is also prohibited in the Bible in the book of Deuteronomy

"And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass."

[Deuteronomy 14:8]

A similar prohibition is repeated in the Bible in the book of Isaiah chapter 65 verse 2-5.

The pig is one of the filthiest animals on earth. It lives and thrives on muck, faeces and dirt. It is the best scavenger that I know that God has produced. In the villages they don’t have modern toilets and the villagers excrete in the open air. Very often excreta is cleared by pigs.

Some may argue that in advanced countries like Australia, pigs are bred in very clean and hygienic conditions. Even in these hygienic conditions the pigs are kept together in sties. No matter how hard you try to keep them clean they are filthy by nature. They eat and enjoy their own as well as their neighbour’s excreta.

6.) Pig is the most shameless animal

The pig is the most shameless animal on the face of the earth. It is the only animal that invites its friends to have s*x with its mate. In America, most people consume pork. Many times after dance parties, they have swapping of wives; i.e. many say "you sleep with my wife and I will sleep with your wife." If you eat pigs then you behave like pigs. We Indians look upon America to be very advanced and sophisticated. Whatever they do, we follow after a few years. According to an article in Island magazine, this practice of swapping wives has become common in the affluent circles of Bombay(India).

oh-come on pigs are nasty they'd eat humans if given it you should look on the net before posting such questions .

i converted to Islam so yes i  tried before i buy-ed  and i didn't like it  coz its nasty invested meat .

Did you hear kittyNyc has said. She doesn't eat pork because she know that it is not good for us. and not for religious reasons.

Being Muslim is not about following a religion its about what is best for humanity. Never has Allah said it is ok to eat pork in any religion.

Pork is not good for you for these and many other reasons. Being Muslim is about understanding what Allah has made for you so that you may benefit from it and be grateful.
