You know, like whose lifestory described there resembles yours... or whose character is similar to yours? And do you have a favourite prophet? I always liked the story about Yusuf/Joseph the best.

  1. I don't know about a favorite, but Allah really makes me c**p my pants.

    *waves to Poppy*

    EDIT:

Ahhh, c'mon, Muslims. Have the abliity to laugh at yourself. Christian God makes me want to c**p my pants sometimes, too.

    ROFL, Poppy.

  2. I'm finding it very hard to identify a specific character for myself from the Qur'an, most of the characters in my eyes are very virtuous, righteous and pure ( something i aspire to be inshallah ), i just have the out most respect for them.

We Muslims love all the prophets ( alayhimus-salaam ) because they are all equal.  Stories that touch my heart are about Mohammad ( á¹£allā llahu Ê¿alayhi wa sallam ), Zakaria ( Alayhis-salaam ) and Ibrahim ( Alayhis-salaam ).

  3. Um...

the third one.....in the second section.

you know the guy who was walking along... and saw something...and then did something... which was particularly impressive.

  4. I have always like the name "Dhul-Qarnyan" in addition to his intelligence and strength.

  5. I would like to identify my self with the last verses of Surat Al Forqaan" wa ibaad ur Rahman....... until the end" & surat al Al mominoon " kad aflaha al Mominoon" I pary I can become in that manner. May Allah make me in the manner that would plaese him to see me as.

  6. Sean, Poppy just worded it wrong, please before jumping  reflect :)

    ~Back to your question Poppy~

The inspiring story of Prophet Ayyub is wonderful and right this moment in time has made me realized with every hardship I should not feel sorry for myself, for indeed self pity will lead me nowhere and I should attain patience and perseverance.

  7. Q: which character from the Qur'an can you identify yourself

    with?

    A: Muslim

  8. Ibrahim smashes the idols into pieces......that was so awesome.

  9. "Character"? You're a troll and Muslims don't have a favourite prophet. Get a life dude.

  10. Of course all of the Suras in the Qur'an are beautiful but when it comes to Suras about prophets..I find Surat Yusuf to be my favorite..mainly because whenever I read it I could actually visualize the events that took place, it's so engaging and it gives me great comfort

My other favorite Sura is Surat AlKahf (The Cave) especially verse 49!!!

    49. And the Book (of Deeds) will be placed (before you); and thou wilt see the sinful in great terror because of what is (recorded) therein; they will say, "Ah! woe to us! what a Book is this! It leaves out nothing small or great, but takes account thereof!" They will find all that they did, placed before them: And not one will thy Lord treat with injustice.

I know I'm not perfect and nobody is sin-free but whenever I read this verse in particular it frightens me (but in a good way) I tend to evaluate my actions and reflect and sometimes even cry..it's so powerful..

May Allah forgive both my unintentional and intentional sins!

  11. YES the story about YUSSUF (alayhe assalam) is a fantastic story..the favourite prophet: Mohammad(saws) and all others.

  12. As role model, It is Muhammad (pbuh) for me and for all Muslims.  But we all believe, love, respect all Prophets of Allah (pbut). Yes, the story of Prophet Yusuf (A.S) is a heart touching for all. It is a miracle of Holy Quran what I think  when we read it and go through the stories of Anbiyaa (A.s) , Allah puts us in our hearts the love for Prophets, for their ways, for the truth they strive and lived for and wants to be like them.  Then we hate those people who opposed His messengers, their ways and were arrogant.
