  1. The Quran is very complex peice of Literature. Its descriptions of scientific processes range from clear to metaphorical. In order to interpret it,we use whatever knowledge we have on hand,so as scientific knowldge progesses as does our understanding of the Quran and what Allah is saying in it.

Evolution is relatively new scientific theory.I call it a theory but its pretty much accepted fact at this point. Since Allah does not explicitly say the exact process by which he created man we are left to interpolate from what is said.In the past we assumed a creation idea that said that after the big bang the universe was created in six periods or very long periods of time but was similiar to christian model. Now we have more evidence from science to help us understand the quran.I can say that yes,the concept of macro evolution and mans "changes in forms" are compatible with Islam.

In this sence It seems that evolution is a tool of the creator,so the two are not exclusive.

  2. good  question i wish i knew...but i like jesus

  3. There's no such thing like evolution in Islam.

  4. We do not believe in evolution.

It was Allah who created us as human beings and we are not a product of chance?

    I dont know whats creationism.....

  5. Peace and blessings be upon you.

Koran say that the creation of the man was through a series of phases ; verse (32:7_9):

"He Who has made everthing which he has created Most good: He began the creation of man with (nothing more than) clay.. And made his progeny from a quintessence of the nature of a fluid despised ..But He fashioned him in due proportion ,and breathed into him something of his spirit. And he gave you (the faculities of) hearing and sight and feeling and(understanding) :little thank do ye give!

So at the first was the clay then leveling then forming, then putting the spirit then hearing, sight ,...

Another verse(71:17):"And Allah has produced you from the earth, growing".

it is as germination method with all what include from stages , phases and time.

But still the question , What Is This Phases??

Fact that all creatures die and change into dust, the similarity also between the chimcal composition between us and dust, carbon and these things.

The Question is , is it one cell from the clay differentiated into  all these types of creatures including man or  different cells from clay each one differentiated to each type?!

The anatomical similarity between the different kinds of creatures prove that their creator was one , created all of them by the same raw material ,the same plan and technique.

but not prove that ;they all was one as the theory say ; this is a fault in the theory.

At all , i read more than that about Islam and evolution , we wasn't against the all theory ,we believe in part of it which is proven by science and agree with our book.

i may try to contact you later ,if i get more to say in this subject.

May be better to understand evolution as a development by action of a Great Creator and not by concidence.

  6. Absolutely nothing...in fact, the Quran gives 5 different versions of the "creation" of man.

What was man created from, blood, clay, dust, nothing or sperm?

    1) "Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood," (96:2).

    2) "We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape, (15:26).

    3) "The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was," (3:59).

4)"But does not man call to mind that We created him before out of nothing?" (19:67, Yusuf Ali). Also, 52:35).

5)"He has created man from a sperm-drop; and behold this same (man) becomes an open disputer! (16:4).

  7. Allah created all things.  And he created man from clay (our father Adam) and created his wife (our mother Eve) from the rib of Adam.  Then the succeeding generations were created from Nutfah (sperm and egg.)  Then there was Jesus who was created with a Mother alone... that was awesome!  May Allah be pleased with them all.  Allah does as he wills!

  8. Islam says that evolution is fake and an excuse for atheists to not believe in Allah. Nature is made by Allah and is the process set forth by Allah to make things. Atheists call that evolution. And obviously muslims believe in Creationism not evolution. The word Muslim means to submit to Allah and u can't submit to Allah unless you believe in Him and His Power all over the Universe and Beyond the Heavens and This Earth.

  9. Allah alone causes life, and Allah alone causes death. Every living thing in the universe has been given life by Allah, and He alone is sustaining every second of its life. If a species survives better than another in a particular environment, it is because Allah allowed it to live more days, and He willed for its progeny to continue.

Allah might cause the origin of a new species from its cousin, is not absolutely random in that it cannot act outside the power of Allah.

if we take the theory of Evolution as a means by which Allah diversifies life on earth to show us His majesty and ability, then He alone, for instance, causes a nucleotide base to be deleted or added in a DNA sequence, thereby causing a frameshift mutation, which leads to the birth of a new species, which represents an evolutionary superior to its genetic predecessor, which passes on its DNA to its progeny, which results in a subsequent mutation, ad infinitum. Furthermore, Allah not only starts this process but He also sustains and directs every second of its execution and development.

  10. I'm very surprised by the answers given here by my Muslim brothers and sisters.  The Holy Qur'an is extremely clear that evolution exists and does happen and is happening as we speak.

Islam does believe in evolution by design. Allah being the cheif designer.

Man did not come from monkeys by any stretch. However, Allah did guide and develop man into the perfect form that man is today.

Allah has developed all creations, chance has nothing to do with it.

The Holy Qur'an is clear on evolution by Allah's design.

    EDIT:

@Asker - This brief article explains it in detail from a Quranic perspective, going into detail regarding the actual arabic in the Quran itself.

love for all, hatred for none

  11. Allah Says : {I (Allah) made them (Iblis and his offspring) not to witness (nor took their help in) the creation of the heavens and the earth and not (even) their own creation, …}[18:51].

Also Allah informs human beings and angels of Adam's creation.

He Says: {And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Verily, I am going to place (mankind) generations after generations on earth." …}[2:30]. Also He Says: {…then verily! We have created you (i.e. Adam) from dust, …}[22:5

  12. Darwin's theory is based on the following:

A human being is no more than an animal. He came into being in accordance with the theory of evolution that the similarity between the human being and ape came from the same species.

Stance of Islam towards Darwin's theory is as follows:

    1) Darwin says that nature is the creator. This statement contradicts the Qur'an.

Allah Says : {Allâh is the Creator of all things, and He is the Wakîl (Trustee, Disposer of affairs, Guardian, etc.) over all things.}[39:62].

He also Says: {Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments of all things before their creation, ….}[54:49].

    2) Darwin alleges knowing the manner of emergence of life on Earth.

Adam) from dust, …}[22:5].

Allah Says: {Allâh has created every moving (living) creature from water. …}[24:45]. Allah Created Adam with His Hands. He also Says: {(Allâh) said: "O Iblîs (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands. …}[38:75].

Then, mud changed into clay of pottery.

Allah Says: {He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery.}[55:14].

In reality, Adam was the first created man. Allah Created him in the best complete form and not the opposite as claimed by Darwin. But, the first creature was so complete and big. Then, he became incomplete and smaller in size than his fathers. The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: "Allah Created Adam (Alaihi al-Salaam), and he was sixty Ziraa (an arm) tall". [Reported by Imams Bukhari and Muslim]

So, believers will enter Paradise as complete as Adam's image. The previous Hadith also reads: "Every person enters Paradise in shape of Adam". The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) ended the saying with: "Decrease in shape of a human being continues till now".

    3) Darwin's saying: 'Only the strong and best will remain alive and catastrophes are the cause behind destruction of weak creatures', is refuted since death befalls everyone, weak and strong.

Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {[He] has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. …}[67:2].

    4) Honoring the human being is contradictory to Darwin's theory which degrades the human being's rank to that of an ape.

Allah Says: {And indeed We have honoured the Children of Adam, and We have carried them on land and sea, and have provided them with At-Taiyibât (lawful good things), and have preferred them above many of those whom We have created with a marked preference.}[17:70].

He also Says: {Verily, We created man of the best stature (mould),}[95:4].

Therefore, there must be one who creates and is not created. He is Allah, who has the all-perfect qualities. While the creatures are not complete, they need others and Allah needs nobody, He is the First and the Last.

Allah Says : {Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators?}[52:35]

    Rest Allah knows the best~!
