Muslims: Are there levels of h**l?

Question

I was reading an answer to another Q about Hypocrites, and it cited this verse:

"The Hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire: no helper wilt thou find for them; (The Noble Quran, 4:145)"

This makes sense to me... but I was just wondering if there is specific theology regarding levels of h**l (and heaven) and degrees of reward/punishment?

Is there an end to the punishment?

What of these helpers? Is there Islamic doctrine regarding who can descend into h**l to help people who are there (ie help them come out)?

What's the take on this?

many Muslims believe that people who are truly good inside but who have sinned will pay for their punishments in h**l then once they have been punished they will be let into Heaven, however not all Muslims believe this.

other Muslims believe that purely good people will be allowed to choose people in h**l who they think have good in their heart and allow them to come into heaven. 'Helper' maybe refering to the Muslims who choose people to come into heaven.

Right. There are 7 Levels of h**l, And for the Kafir (non believers) there is no ending of punishment, but for believers who believe in Allah (SWT) and his messenger (PBUH) And they were still not on the right, they will get punished for the bad they done, but they will go to h**l after there punishment. Nobody can help the disbelievers out of h**l NOBODY, because Allah (SWT) controls everyone. Anymore quetions free to ask :) im a Muslim ♥

Yes there are....

Those who believe but have not been forgived of all their sins will be punished at lighter levels than those who were atheists, polytheist, and those who led sinful lives.

But in the end, only Allah knows.

No one can take or help someone with h**l.

Allah says:

"And the dwellers of the Fire cry out unto the dwellers of the Garden: Pour on us some water or some wherewith Allah hath provided you. They say: Lo! Allah hath forbidden both to disbelievers (in His guidance), " Sura 7; verse 50.

The prophet Himself صلى الله عليه و سلم cannot help a h**l dweller Allah says to our prophet in denouncment:

"Is he on whom the word of doom is fulfilled (to be helped), and canst thou (O Muhammad) rescue him who is in the Fire? " Sura 39, Verse 19.

No end to the punishment because if they were granted another chance; they'll do the same bad deeds; Allah knows the best and He said:

"And if they were sent back they would return unto that which they are forbidden. Lo! they are liars. " Sura 6, verse 28.

There are 7 levels of h**l and 7 levels of Paradise.

People can escape Hellfire by the mercy of Allah. No one can descend into h**l and save anyone, only Allah can save them.

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:

The Prophet said, "When the people of Paradise will enter Paradise and the people of h**l will go to h**l, Allah will order those who have had faith equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed to be taken out from h**l. So they will be taken out but (by then) they will be blackened (charred). Then they will be put in the river of Haya' (rain) or Hayat (life) (the Narrator is in doubt as to which is the right term), and they will revive like a grain that grows near the bank of a flood channel. Don't you see that it comes out yellow and twisted."
