Since Allah is control of all things--what about caring for the environment? There is so much pollution and global warming that we (humans) are quickly destroying Allah's creation. Should we just continue living our lives--or should we take steps to make this world a better place for our future generations (drastically reducing CO2's and consider 'family planning' since the earth is already overpopulated)?

I believe we should care for this 'home' like we would if we were a guest at another's house. I wouldn't purposely and knowingly break and damage things in her house after I realized what of my actions was causing me to do this? I also wouldn't have a bunch extra people come over when I know the house is of a certain size.

  1. Yes according to Islam we are to take care of the environment also.  And there are refereces of these in the Qur'an and Sunnah. mmm... There are a lot of manners and ettiquettes in Islaam related to what you have mentioned.

BUT, Allah is the provider of everything, and we are not to limit having children just because of this and that.  Children are a creation of Allah just like us, they are a blessing and prophet told us to have many children(unless harmful for the woman etc.).  And know that Allah is all aware, and it is not we who feed the children, but it is by Allah.

Just like the birds and animals that go out in the morning, not knowing where they will find food today.

I'm sorry I don't have the references right now from authentic sources.  But you might be able to get it from this yahoo group? muttaqiyyah http://groups.yahoo.com/group/muttaqiyya...

and there are many other Y/groups, that are somewhat to completely authentic (but WARNING many are not good ones, so careful out there!)

  2. allah doesnt care for this dunya he cares for the believers. a dead rotting mule has gained more love from allah than this dunya.

  3. good topic

    Good question

    agreed to you

  4. bwsides who here knows when al kiyamah is?? so foe the time being we should take care of our planet for the sake of our children!

  5. Agreed.

  6. this is a lovely post. thank you. and ur sooo right. xx

  7. No doubt Allah is controlling all the things. nothing can happen if Allah wouldn't  wanted,

regarding taking care of environment  we should do by practicing teaching of our religion Islam, which give us reach materials about  how to take  care of environment. lots qura'anic verses and Hadiths R indicating in this regard.

but as earth is overpopulated is concern I'm not agree with U earth is still too big. It can  carry too time bigger population. So no need for family planning? Allah can feed and fulfill all the requirement of his creations. All the crises in any field, is made by us not by the nature. Nature is so kind upon us, it has all kind of treasures just need to know how & who can  use it properly. So we should not think about the size of our home (earth ) it is very vast, but we should take care of it & think how to keep it clean and free of dirty things.

  8. islam is a balanced religion. we should be careful not to waste anything- finish your plate- eat together with your family in one plate so no1 overeats or under eats.

we are encouraged in islam to procreate and to be intimate with our spouse so i don't think it is smart to say we should stop having children... just because we have children, doesnt mean we are making any more of a mess of this world than a single person. we can use cloth diapers, share a modest bed, don't even need a crib, bassinet, swing, toys, etc. everything everybody seems to get their kids way too much of.

i see single ppl waste way more than i do- i have 2 kids. single ppl seem to take their money for granted. i rarely ever go out for dinner or for coffee or whatever- so no takeout containers r being used- i don't use much ready made food, so that too... u dont realise but the boxes of microwave ready foods and plastic bags for chips and all those things just add up to destroying our world. ppl should stop with all this convenience stuff and eat healthy whole foods like fresh fruit, veggies, rice, home-baked foods, etc.

look at the huge families in africa- r u going to tell me that they waste more than a family without children here?

  10. Agreed.

  11. Right..

  12. good question!

  13. I can't find fault with your argument (therefore it is my argument as well).

The problem is (excuse me if this is not portrayed properly):

Many people (to me) have stated that you cannot change fate. You cannot control when you have a baby or when the world will disintegrate etc.

I find it a weak argument, as although we cannot control pregnancies and cannot abort, we can limit s*x or abstain from it entirely.

Also, the world's disintegration is entirely within our control. True, we know not when the Day of Judgement is, but if it isn't coming in our time...then who are we to leave a pile of rot for our descendants?

Too many people live their lives for themselves, under the cloak of submission to the Almighty.

If you abstain from s*x (an act that is permitted), and abstain from polluting the world... then you will have done good, even in Allah's eyes. he will not banish you to the Fire if you have not fathered (or given birth to) a child.

Instead of fathering a Muslim, you can Mentor a Muslim. Teach others, they do not need to be of your own blood.

And how will not polluting this world demote you in Allah's eyes? You have sacrificed your luxury in order to give to others (future and present). How can that ever be bad?

    Love

    Sameh

  14. Great qstn

It is not the quantity of kids, but the quality with which we raise them matters...

  15. wow thats deep

    i agree

we r like a guest in another persons house

  16. Yeh good question. We should treat others houses like it was ours.

    Peace

  17. Peace be upon u..

    I agree..

OK, I think we humans are taking advantage of things too much.

The best way is we continue living our lives by

    ~taking only what we need

~buying stuffs only what we need

~using things only when we need it

    for Now.

~we also need to learn to share stuffs

~don't waste(Allah don't like us to waste) be it, time, money, electricity etc.

    --------------------------------------...

    - There's no need to buy extra stuffs, books, furniture etc, that we feel we might need in the future. Just live for now.

    - We humans sometimes can get really really greedy. Not satisfied with what we have, and always wanting to "upgrade", thinking it can help us live more comfortable and a more convenient life. But then get bored with it, and wanting to upgrade more. We should know when it's enough, and when it's too much. But sadly, we fail to do so.

If we comply with these, then the rest, just takes course according to Allah's plan. The world will end one day, and only Allah knows when.

We shouldn't ponder too much on this, and trust Allah. Allah knows best.
