My cousin is getting married in Mussenden Temple in Ireland and I was just wondering what it's like?

It doesn't look too nice on pictures.

  1. Mussenden Temple is a great place for a wedding - Temple of the Winds - perched high on the cliffs and looking down over Downhill beach. No local hotels as the nearest one closed recently. Hope you have a good time - it really is spectacular. Try and get a ride along the Bishops Road., and walk thru the gardens in Castlerock.

  2. Never heard of it till I looked it up on Google.  It looks spectacular. dont think much of the temple itself but the grounds and scenery look great. I'm sure you will have a grand old time.

Cousin must have done a lot of research before she booked it, so I'm sure it will be a brilliant day. Don't forget to bring an umbrella.

  3. The wedding itself may be a Mussenden which occupies a cliff top position near castlerock/downhill in county Derry.  I imagine wedding location picked only for panoramic views.  The temple itself is very small and has no facilties, but I imagine that reception will be in nearby hotel.

    Have a good day.

    STOP PRESS!!!!

If you have BBC i-player, there was a programme on BBC Northern Ireland tonight (8th Aug) called "Laurence & Jackies Northern Exposure" - the second item on the show is about Mussenden.  Go to the BBC website, http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/l/ - programme may not be accessible until tomorrow morning.
