I think I read somewhere that the blood has to be drained a certain way in order for it to be label Kosher. Is that correct?

  1. Yes. it must be cut swiftly by the jugular vein and be blessed by the rabbi

  2. yes, and then it must be blessed by a rabbi, believe it or not. Jews don't f^ck around when it comes to their dinner ;-)

  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosher_food...

Yes. Go down to fish and meat.

  4. The last detail is it can't fall in its own blood.

  5. Yes and no.

First the animal has to chew its cud and have cloven hooves. (believe it or not a giraffe is a Kosher animal).

Second of all, the animal must be killed in a certain way (explained further in the link below) that it causes the animal no pain, or as little pain as possible.

Third of all, as much blood as possible has to be removed.

Theres also certain spiritual beliefs and such that go along with it, but its really hard to explain without going into a 1 million and one details. Its explained in the link.

  6. Yes, it is.  It has to bleed out.
