  1. Westminster Abbey, Tower of London, The Eye, Hyde Park, St. James' Park, Kew Gardens, Madame Tussaud's, Tate Gallery, You're going for a few days?  I don't think I could do everything in an action-packed MONTH!  I wouldn't even try, you'd be exhausted!

One thing I found that is a little less known, was the London Dungeon...a museum, sort of a wax museum, of torture devices (not really that awful) and such from the middle ages.  There was a thing about Jeckell and Hyde, and a display about the black death, and other diseases of the Middle Ages.  Really not that obscure, either.

  2. There are no "musts".  If a major attraction is boring for you, skip it by all means...

Have a browse below just to get ideas.

I'd rather take on the Portobello Road in the hope of finding a curious curio, than visit Harrods.

If you've not done it, a river trip... Just Westminster to Tower pier, or out to Greenwich and the Thames Barrier, and back.

Leave from Westminster pier, near The Houses of Parliament. (but the longest version is a three hour round trip... though there are *lots * of sights and great photo possibilities, and it's easy on the feet.)
