Must see in Glasgow, Edinburgh?

Coming to visit in October, but will only be in Glasgow and Edinburgh ONE full day each. I'd like to ask locals and anyone who has traveled there to share their ideas of what I can't miss in each city. I am planning on seeing the Ediburgh Dungeons. Any other must see suggestions?

Go to Edinburgh Castle its really good, you could also try the Museum of Scotland aswell, its interesting and not too far away from the castle but part of it is closed for refurbishment. You could also try Dynamic Earth its another museum about the planet and takes you through different stages in its history.

The open top buses are a really good way of getting a tour around Edinburgh and the stop at all the major tourist places.

There are some really good shops in Glasgow. A bit further away from the city center is the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and the Museum of Transport but you have to get the underground out to these and I think you have to walk a bit. You could also try the Science Museum.
